Reflecting on my first practicum experience brought up a lot of good memories with the students and Teacher Mentor that welcomed me into their class. The main takeaways from this experience continue to be to set and maintain fair but firm boundaries, be excellent with time management, and ensure the classroom is an inclusive space for everyone. In preparation for EDPR 3200, I have been focusing on the classroom management our new Teacher Mentor has used in order to be ready to teach in April. I also have tried my best to refine and practice my lessons before utilizing them in the class to make sure my time management skills are on point. This was a key moment from EDPR 3100 that I will continue to practice throughout my career. As for an inclusive classroom, that will always be a main goal I strive for. I want all students, parents, peers, and everyone else to feel welcome and accepted into the classroom I’m placed in.
